Weeks Four/Five

Students in K-2 continue to develop their Spanish skills during the first unit of study.

  • K students are practicing counting in Spanish, along with how to describe color names. This week, we will read Oso pardo, oso pardo: ¿Qué ves ahí? (Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What do you see?).
  • 1st grade students are practicing vocabulary from La oruga muy hambrienta (The Very Hungry Caterpillar), particularly the foods the caterpillar eats and the days of the week. They are also creating their classroom butterfly to be mailed to Mexico as a part of the Journey North Symbolic Monarch Migration.
  • 2nd grade students continue to read El capibara con botas as they explore the life of one capybara living in Ecuador’s Amazonia region. This book enables students to discuss characteristics of the animals using adjectives and to learn about Ecuador’s four major geographic regions.
